Venus Hides - Spin Cycle Sessions
Whether it is slick grooves or heavy distortion at the behest of the RAT pedal, Venus Hides brings us thoughtful and intentional guitar music. Blending together various alt and mainstream influences, you melt for the dreamy flute that Abner Effortless wields until he effortlessly switches to guitar for the final song. Julian is casting glittery spells from a Jazzmaster that sparkles sonically and visually. The twins Carlo and Danny on the bass and drums keep it tight and punchy, making sure you feel every beat and sway with every rhythm.

Scrunchie - Spin Cycle Sessions
Powerful and affecting, Scrunchie arrives in the laundry room like a force of nature. A three layered wall of sound provided by the guitar interplay of Danny, Nathan, and Mig is backed by the steady but energetic rhythm section brought by bassist Vince and drummer Trevor. For a band that has tagged themselves "slowcore", the building momentum in each of Scrunchie's tracks keeps listeners hooked.
If your signal-to-noise ratio feels a little too clean and a tad too weak, roll into the weekend with some Scrunchie.

YOCOYA - Spin Cycle Sessions
Bringing an absolutely grooving set, Valley jazz group Yocoya sets fire to our little room. Angelo, the band leader pummels the kit with delicate and assertive rhythms that ebb and flow with the rivers of melody created by keyboardist Josh and Saxophonist Kosta. David dominates the low end with precise and heavy bass and turns that around when the bow comes out for a beautiful drone. Finally, Keelan brings a firey edge with a guitar that seems far too easy to play in his hands.
Yocoya brings together a mashing of influences creating a varied and beautiful journey through the hearts of these talented and skilled musicians.

Carrie Zhu - Spin Cycle Sessions
Carrie Zhu and her band are students at USC coming from the Chinese Music Club Crescendo. Bringing electrifying pop-rock Carrie blasts a hole straight through the screen with her anthemic songs accompanied by moments of quiet contemplation and blistering guitar solos. Feedback is not to be feared and Leo lays a firey lead guitar over the RnB-inspired rhythm section held down by Wenda Gu's sparse and decisive basslines on top of Andy Liu's Dynamic Drumming. Jack Lin, ever-present, creates a bed of synthy goodness that wraps around the whole band. Charles Cui joins in on the second song to create a powerful duet.
